The Peninsula Shanghai

The Bund, Shanghai

Overview

The Peninsula's flagship hotel in Mainland China, fronting the Bund with views over the Huangpu River and Pudong. Opened 2009.

Fronting the Bund, with views of the Huangpu River, Pudong and the gardens of the former British Consulate, The Peninsula Shanghai blends the historic architecture of its neighbours with an Art Deco-inspired glamour. Its granite facade carries bronze detailing in the mullions, grilles and panelled artwork.

Opened in 2009, it is The Peninsula's flagship hotel in Mainland China, with 235 rooms, 39 serviced apartments, five restaurants, Shanghai's only five-star spa and the Peninsula Academy. It has been named a Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel for nine consecutive years and was ranked the best hotel in Shanghai in Travel + Leisure's World's Best Awards 2019.

Awards include Top 10 Best Hotels & Resorts in China (DestinAsian Readers' Choice Awards 2020) and Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star (2020).
